Objectives general:

Activity trigger

when they arrive in class, the students discover an aquarium installed in the class with some fish (guppies)

Observation and representation

We will notice the body covered with scales and the fins -----> draw

After several days of observation and care, point out:

  • he swims with his fins

  • that it is always in the water -----> the fish can only breathe in the water,using gills

 

With the help of photographs, documentary books, research on the internet...

look for the diversity of fish (shapes, sizes, colors) and their places of life (river, sea, etc.)

Understand that "fish" means a large number of animals of which there are many species, each with a different name.

But that all live in water, have fins and a body covered with scales

The fish eats and sheds its waste

Observation :

After a week, the water is dirty.

How to explain this phenomenon ?

  • the fish eats and rejects its waste (in what form?)

  • What's he eating ? what is he drinking?

Design :

  • on the surface of the water: food (shape, color, name it)

  • at the bottom of the water: waste (shape, color)
