Period 1
Sizes
Objectives of the period:
-
Compare and sort objects by size
Link to the DINO album at school
-
Ascending order: arrange the images according to the size criterion
Tree leaves - classify by size:
The medical visit
Measure, compare children's sizes
Concept of large/medium/small
Specify the larger, smaller, as large vocabulary
Give a method to compare lengths
Compare/classify, compare/order, order
Material :strips of paper, markers, a ruler to make a height chart
Procedure:
-
Attach identical strips of paper along a wall.
-
By 2, ask the pupils to put a thin book on the head of the one who is against the strip of paper and make a mark.
-
Cut the strips at the location of the marker and have the students' first names written.
-
Take 5 or 6 strips in order to limit the comparison work
-
Point out that to make a good comparison you need a common base (the feet) and see who goes the highest.
-
Arrange from smallest to largest and largest to smallest. Notice that you get a sort of ascending or descending staircase.
-
use the vocabulary: larger, smaller, as large
Extension :
insert a strip among those that have just been arranged.
The strips can then be decorated by the students and hung in the hallway as decoration, knowing that the students will return to them and compare themselves to the strip of this or that classmate.
Shapes
Objectives of the period:
-
Differentiate and classify simple shapes
-
Reproducing an assembly of shapes
Albums to use
Puzzles
Follow up on completed puzzles (example: double-entry table displayed in the games corner)
Recognize and name simple shapes
Activity to place at the time of rituals
Make a game of 15x15 cards representing geometric shapes and practice like flash cards (see rituals to learn to count)
Visual discrimination:
Leaves
Differentiate between objects based on characteristics related to their shape
The pearl necklace (Small Section)
be able to detach a sticker, place it in the right place (eye-hand report) orient it according to the desired result and sort by shapes
Organized suites
Objectives of the period:
-
Identify the organizing principle of a simple algorithm and pursue its application
Algorithms
-
Make a necklace respecting the instructions (strip with presentation of the rhythm)
-
Graphic representation of the felt collar
Period 1
Color Algorithm 1/1
Period 1
Shapes algorithm
Period 2
Sizes
Objectives of the period:
-
Compare and sort objects by size
-
PS/MS: start comparing sizes (small/medium/large)
Travail préparatoire :
-
manipuler les barres (jeu en bois), jouer à les ranger de la plus petite à la plus grande, de la plus grande à la plus petite, intercaler une barre, augmenter le nombre de barres
Shapes
Objectives of the period:
-
Differentiate and classify simple shapes
-
Reproducing an assembly of shapes
Puzzles
Propose a new series of puzzles with more pieces
Follow up on completed puzzles (example: double-entry table displayed in the games corner)
Attrimaths
Start with figurative forms
Follow up on the student's individual file
Tangram-discovery
Reproduce an assembly of shapes by drawing it
Draw freehand shapes
Make an assembly - draw it (graphics markers) - photograph both to keep track and track progress
