Santa seen by children
Language workshop
Before decorating the class with stereotypical Santa Clauses, I propose this language workshop in order to know the representations that my students have of him.
We realize then that they do not all have the same image, it depends on the family culture and animated films or books on the subject.
They sometimes express themselves with a lot of poetry to talk about this character in which they are still allowed to believe this year (the last for many of them).

How is he dressed this Santa Claus ?
He has a red cap...He has a white pompom on the red cap...A belt...A red jacket...Grey boots...A red and white coat and also he has white on the coat...He has a beard...a white beard...He has white gloves...Red and white shoes...It's black boots...He has red mittens... He has red pants...He has glasses...Santa Claus has shorn sheep's wool and has a beard...Santa Claus is red and white...He has buttons white on his coat...No ! Black.
What does it look like ?
He's tall... He's old... He looks like a leprechaun... he looks like Red Riding Hood... No !... He looks like a leprechaun...He's fat.
Where does he live ?
He lives in the North...He lives in the sky...He lives in the North Pole...He lives in a gray house...It's not gray, it's white...He has a red house.
Who does he live with ?
With the reindeer...With the elves...With the elves who make toys...He lives with a Santa Claus granny...With a little bird. He looks at the children and he tells Santa Claus if they are good...With the horse that wraps the presents...He has a crystal ball to see the children...If they are good or if they are not good .
How come Christmas Eve ?
He goes down with the reindeer...He goes down chimneys...He has a sled...He attaches the reindeer to his sleigh...The reindeer i guide the sled...He has a key to open the doors when there is no chimney...that's true...He goes down the chimney and he puts the presents next to the tree...He has a bag of presents...And he brings the presents.. .He brings the gifts with the bag and he flies with the magic that he puts in his sleigh...The Santa Claus after to give the gifts he goes down the chimney...To go to the sky, he has a sleigh and reindeer and also to go on the roof of the houses, he puts himself on the roof with the sled...He can come down from the sky...On the 24th, the dads and the moms i tell their grandchildren that i go to bed that night Santa Claus i will come...He brings presents with a hood.
