Before the first session:    Talk about it

  • What are we going to do?

  • Where is the swimming pool? (plan)

We "imagine" the environment and the activity.

The teacher writes down the questions that the children ask themselves and the impressions that emerge (emotional reactions:  pleasure - apprehension - fear)

Artistic activities: How to represent water?

  • its different colors (cut papers)

  • its lines, its movements (graphics)

  • its transparency (faded color, moistened paper)

Organization

  • Organization of groups in space

  • 1 group / 1 facilitator

  • the tasks: criteria of success speaking for the child

Give instructions when picking up groups

Manage children's activity time (no waiting on the edge)

Goals :

  • Enter deep water and move

-enter by the ladder, stand on the edge and exit at another defined place

-go faster, overtake, change direction, cross paths

-hold on to the pole placed in the corner to reach the other side

- enter the slide, foot forward/head forward, on your back/on your stomach

-skip

  • Immerse yourself and move in immersion

- go down to the bottom using the pole placed vertically and let yourself go up

- in the small bath: go touch the bottom with a part of your body (feet, knees, buttocks, hands, back...)

- pick up weighted objects

- cross an obstacle on the surface (water line, rope, pole...) in depth (rock, arches...)

  • Let yourself be balanced by the water

-with equipment: board, chip, mat, water line...

- in the small bath: foot at the bottom, water at knee height, drop (back, front, side fall) 

-keep your body straight during the fall and at the end let yourself be carried away by the water (the torpedo)

-make the starfish on the back

  • Blow in the water

-make bubbles, longer and longer, more or less big

  • propel oneself

-move forward while kicking (while holding on to the chute with one hand)

- using a board or a  or two fries

A few games...

Jump into the small bath:

  • from the edge with help or without help

  • in a hoop with or without help

Getting around in the small bath :

  • "small packages":the teacher announces in number and the children regroup respecting the number in each group

  • "floating wrecks":many floating objects - in teams, bring as many objects as possible back to their camp one by one

  • the sweeps :reinvest the rounds learned in the games room

  • "fisherman's net":(idem games room) make a circle, arms raised (the net) the fish are outside and cross the net - at the predefined number, the arms lower and trap the fish which then join the net...etc

  • "the snake": the serpent's head leads the others (4 or 5 children) on a winding course

  • "the burning bullets:make two camps, separated by a waterline, on signal and for a limited time, throw the most balls into the opposing camp. The winning team is the one with the fewest balls in their court.

  • "baskets" :two teams that initially have the same number of objects in their basket. At the signal and for a given time, empty his basket to fill that of the adversary. The winning team is the one with the fewest objects in their basket.

Immerse yourself in the small bath:

  • Treasure fishing:  in teams, pick up weighted objects and carry them on a mat to their camp.

  • The dolphin :pass through a hoop held vertically close to the surface

  • "le coupeur de tête":move the board to the surface of the water, when the board approaches submerge to leave passer the board above the head

Blow in water :

  • "the bubble merchant":hanging on the edge, head in the water, blowing as many bubbles as possible

Jump into the big bain:

  • the hoop floats close to the edge, the child jumps through the hoop (with or without help)

Immerse yourself in the grand bain:

  • "the firefighter": descend along the pole to touch the bottom
